National Civil Rights Museum
Tennessee residents with state-issued ID may visit the museum for free on Mondays from 3 p.m. until closing.
Ornamental Metal Museum. The Museum offers free admission to Tennessee residents every Thursday.
Dixon Gallery and Gardens Saturday: 10 am - noon: Free, museum and gardens
Children’s Museum of Memphis receives no taxpayer funding. It is a private, nonprofit organization and cannot afford to offer any free times or days to the public. Families that cannot afford to pay admission may apply for “Yes, EVERY Child!” memberships by stopping by the museum during regular business hours, or you may also download the application and submit by email. Families must meet certain requirements to qualify for these funds, including providing proof of residence (MLGW bill). Based on volume, phone calls and other inquiries are not accepted for this program.

Memphis Brooks Museum of Art on Wednesday, admission is per donation only. From a penny to any dollar amount, you decide what you pay. Our free Wacky Wednesday program provides a creative outlet during the summer for families, day camps, and child care centers with an open artworks studio, gallery guides, and children’s international short films every Wednesday in June and July.
Stax Museum of American Soul Music- Admission is free to Shelby County residents from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays.
Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum- The museum is free for Shelby County residents on Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 7 p.m.
Center for Southern Folklore-The center is always open for free.
Elmwood Cemetery- Grounds of the cemetery are open daily 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The cottage is open Monday - Friday. 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. - noon.
